I am an unapologetic critic of Islam & feel reform within that religion is key to ultimate victory.

As with most liberal pundits, Jim Shea of the Hartford Courant just can’t seem to get his fingers on the pulse of an issue… “Joementum” isn’t about being a Hawkish member of the body politique… Joementum is a political force that began the night Mr. Lieberman delivered one of the finest oratories this country has seen since John F. Kennedy…

His concession speech the night he was defeated by Ned Lamont in the Connecticut. Dem. Primary will forever be a source of inspiration to me, & I dare say history will prove him to be one of the first of the politicians who came to be called the Great Uniters…

For those who missed it, Mr. Lieberman talked about divisiveness, not only in his party, which had shunned him, but the ever escalating level of angry rhetoric being bandied about by zealous partisans from both extremes of the political spectrum…

He decried the damage this hostility was doing to meaningful debate on this countries most pressing issues, & the disenfranchisement it was creating for the vast majority of Americans, those of us who, politically, reside closer to the center than the extreme right or left…

Mr. Lieberman seems to be the only prominent left of center politician who understands that you can be socially liberal without sticking your head in the sand when it comes to the defense of this country… Perhaps that’s why he retained his Senate seat in a cake walk in the General Election in November 2006… Apparently once the party’s no longer had control, as they do in state primary elections, the Centrist /Independent voices sought to keep a man who "gets it" in the Senate, as opposed to Mr. Lamont who was campaigning from the Defeat & Retreat platform of the Democratic base…

Ultimately, Jim Shea “can’t get his head around” what centrists in Connecticut understand quite clearly... Should we fail in this global war on Islamo- Fascism, liberals will be the very first to suffer under it’s sword…

A sentiment they expressed overwhelmingly at the polls on the 1st Tuesday in November of 2006.…

Sands what differentiates Lieberman from the rest is he appears to mean it... He has consistently upheld the foreign policy issues implemented by the Bush administration while staying ttrue to his domestic liberal convictions...If ii can be said there is one Scoop Jackson left in Wash. DC it's Joe Lieberman... I metioned the War on islamo-Fascism because in the 3 appearances I saw Mr. McCain & Mr. Lieberman make on TV, that was the main reason Lieberman cited for his support of McCain... As for Lieberman having no impact, don't look now but it appears it was good to vault McCain back into the race... Finally there was an article about the underfunding of Palestinian schools in Jerusalem in today's S-T... here's a suggestion--- Perhaps the Palestinian Authority and Muslims in general should spend more of their Zakat (Tithings from fellow Muslims) on funding schools & educating the 73% of their Fellow Practitioners who are illiterate & a lot less on French Media consultants, Katushya Rockets & Kalashnikov rifles... It's just a suggestion but I would you rather be able to read than build a suicide vest, wouldn't you??? In keeping with the spirit of the season I certainly hope you & yours had a blessed Eid... Sands...

Bob, I will gladly concede that you are extremely well versed in the alleged field of Islamo_Facist studies ( as you might call it). There, something resembling goodwill at this time of year. But I say that to underline my amazement at your tendency to pick the most obscure and innoffesive, irrelevant stories for your bursts of outrage. It's a tame piece, describing the lack of impact Lieberman's endorsement will have in NH. ( BTW, in the Xmas spirit, It would be nice if you followed Lieberman's alleged non partisanship and conceded that I wasnt involved in the Sears tower plot or something and note that human rights may even apply to Palestinians). Anyway, to the point, what Joe said in his primary concession "speech" has been said by so many, in every election and he is, once again, mangling history to paint hyper-partisanship as a new phenomenon. Its like saying football is rougher now than before or whatever. It is meaningless and we all know that participants who cry foul are disingenuous at best. That is, unless they have some specifics to charge. For exasmple, friendly Joe claimed thet Ned led a " coordinated attack" on his website and a much bally hooed (front page) FBI investigation was lauched, leading only to the conclusion ( page A 36? or if ever) that some Joe was playing partisan politics and slinging mud and false charges. I would like to say it was Honest Joe but my yuletide spirit is encumbering me. Heck, he even made sure to mention the hacking in his "powerful " , globally, historically, galatially significant concession speech for the ages.
