It seems almost daily some news story appears that clearly shows the contempt leftist liberal Democrats have for our men & women in the armed forces… For all their bluster about “patriotically opposing the war, though still supporting the troops,” the evidence is mounting; they have nothing but contempt for those who serve…

“Redacted” a film directed by Brian DePalma & financed by Internet mogul / Dallas Mavericks owner Marc Cuban, is a movie about the rape of a 14 year old girl & subsequent execution of her family by  7 U.S. service members in Iraq…  Though much of what is alleged to have happened remains disputed by the participants, the government wasted little time in prosecuting these men & they are now serving lengthy criminal sentences in military prisons, 2 of the men received life sentences… (Food For thought… How many P.O.W.’s are being held by the enemy?)

While I don’t condone the actions of these men,  the fact of the matter is, this incident is an aberration and not standard operating procedure for the men and women serving our country in Iraq… What troubles me is the way this movie will, no doubt, be used internationally to fuel the flames of Anti-Americanism… This will be particularly true in the Middle East where a movie like this will cause a furor when it is released… Make no mistake, American lives will be lost because this movie enflames extremist passions… How does releasing a movie like “Redacted” show support for the troops?

In “Lions for lambs”, Robert Redford’s latest, leftist distortions & misconceptions are stated throughout as if they were true… Though I haven’t seen (Nor will I watch it later) the movie, it promotes many inaccuracies that leftists take for Gospel… For example the movie claims that torture/waterboarding is ineffective & the sectarian division between Sunnis’ & Shiites is so great, they could never unite to fight against anybody let alone a common enemy such as the United States…

In truth water boarding & torture have been instrumental in stopping a number of terrorist plots… Bojinka airlines attack, the attack on the Pope, as well as the details of several classified terrorist operations were all compromised because of water boarding and torture being employed… 

The allegation that sectarian strife super-cedes a common enemy is in direct conflict with the conclusions of the 9/11 commission, who found numerous instances when Sunni’s & Shiites aligned with one another to attack western interests…

According to the testimony of Ramzi Yousef, the first WTC bombing in 1993 was such an instance… Like wise the CIA & the FBI have meticulously detailed the sectarian crossover involved in the killing of our troops in the Khobar Towers bombing in Saudi Arabia… 

A newly released book titled “The Al-Qaeda Reader” by Raymond Ibrahim,
sheds much light on the fallacy of that sentiment as well… Al-Qaeda Reader is a collection of written statements by Osama bin-Laden, Ayman al-Zawahiri, and one of Hells newest denizens Abu Musab al-Zaqawi, translated by Mr.Ibrahim… In their own words our enemies talk about the need of a strategic alliance with the other sects for the purpose of defeating the “Crusaders” (The West)… Again misleading the public serves no ones interest, except the Jihadists…

On a promotional interview one of the stars of “Lions for lambs”,  Meryl Streep, was asked if she wanted her country to win the war on terror. Her response?  Typical of what we’ve come to expect from these Leftist lunatics…

“I believe that’s a loaded question. It’s like asking someone “Do you still beat your wife’ “

As a boy I enjoyed a good war movie..  In truth I still do they, just don’t make them anymore, & recently I’ve read two articles about this war that I believe would make fine screen adaptations… (though I won’t hold my breath waiting for them to be made)…

The first ,“The Longest Morning” by Jeff Emanuel appeared in Nov. issue of American Spectator, is a remarkable retelling of a firefight that took place Aug 26th in Samarra…

A four man rooftop observation post was ambushed by insurgents, the resulting action cost the lives of 2 of the 4 men, but they held their position and during the battle inflicted massive casualties on the enemy… As a note just as all looked hopeless for the 2 surviving members of the team, the cavalry arrives to rescue them… This is the stuff that used to make for a good movie when I was a kid…

The other story is “How They Did It”, Kimberly Kagan’s remarkably detailed account of the “Troop Surge” in the November 19th edition of the Weekly Standard… Ms. Kagan explains how the surge has been utilized & details many of the operational aspects that few people have heard reported in the mainstream media… It’s been mostly positive news after all, and good news is useless to the defeat at all costs agenda so rampant in the left wing media…

It isn’t only Hollywood that has it in for the troops however, many of our elected  politicians want to extract their pound of flesh where ever & when ever they can… In Cambridge for instance, the election commissioner wouldn’t allow the Boy Scouts of Troop 45 to leave boxes at the polling stations so people could donate items for care packages to be sent overseas for the troops…

When Gen. Petreus gave his testimony before Congress he was treated like a political punching bag by moveon.org, the NY Times and Presidential contender Sen. Hillary Clinton, who openly called his honesty into question… This was done despite the clear and compelling testimony he gave on how well the surge was working… Some two months later it is patently obvious he was not lying… How long we wait for a formal apology to be issued to the general by Mrs. Clinton remains to be seen…

Yesterday (Nov. 16th), the House and Senate failed to come to terms on a budget to fund the war … The Republicans had a 70 billion dollar budget proposal that was nixed by the Democrats… It seems liberal leftist Democrats (as heavily invested in defeat as they are), refused to pass a budget unless it had a timetable for troop withdrawal…

The House speaker and Sen Majority leader both expressed doubt that anything would get done on the defense appropriation bill until after the New Year… (Tough to fight a war without funding)

Like they say the proof is in the pudding, and this is one dish that has been very consistent…

 It is very clear, today’s American leftists sole concern is regaining control of the White House… In fact from my observations, the only person left of center who truly seems to care about an American victory in the war on terror is the Independent and one time vice Presidential contender from Connecticut, Joe Lieberman…

People who want to be inspired by a politician that loves his country, should watch Mr. Lieberman’s concession speech after losing the Democratic primary to Ned Lamonte last year, it was perhaps the finest oratory I have  witnessed by an American politician in the past 15 years…  You want to know what’s wrong with contemporary American politics? Simple, there are no more Scoop Jackson’s in the Democratic party… 

Looking at some of Mr. Jackson’s opinions on Congress’ role as it relates to foreign policy, it’s hard to believe we are living in the same country… My observation is while Mr. Jackson truly loved his country, today’s Democratic leaders only love political power and ultimately, regaining that power is more important to them than national security…

Next years national elections should be a referendum on Islmao-Fascism & Illegal immigration..  Sadly for Centrist Americans seeking alternatives, the safe money says for Democrats it will be about impugning conservatism...
