I am an unapologetic critic of Islam & feel reform within that religion is key to ultimate victory.

Am I the only person who sees a problem in this country when the leader of one of the most despicable regimes on earth is invited to be a guest speaker at a prestigious Ivy League School, while a true patriot and defender of the American way of life is told he cannot?

Such is the case at Columbia University, who this week extended an invitation to Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, a mere 24 hours after telling Jim Gilchrist, the founder of The Minuteman Project, that he is persona-non-grata…

For those unfamiliar with the recent history between Mr. Gilchrist & Columbia… Last year Mr. Gilchrist was assailed by an unruly mob of student activists as he tried to deliver a speech on the Columbia campus… The activists became so unruly that Mr. Gilchrist had to scrap the speech and flee the stage…

Columbia officials, first tepidly supported the students under the guise of free speech, then issued an apology to Mr. Gilchrist and invited him back to try again… That invitation was rescinded earlier this week, & in his place Columbia invited the Iranian President…

Some questions for the board of regents at Columbia…

Has Mr. Gilchrist--- hung any 16 year old girls for committing an immoral act?

Threatened to wipe any other country off the face of the earth recently?

Been involved in the deaths of thousands of people all over the world?

Been implicated in the 9/11 attacks? (Read the 9/11 Report & or Chapter 1 of Kenneth Timmerman’s “Countdown to Crisis”)

Ever harbored any Al-Qa’ida figures?

Aided the insurgency in Iraq?

Kidnapped Ex-Patriots living in the West and held them on trumped charges of espionage?

Killed any Journalists? (Isn’t Columbia home to one of the premier Journalism schools in the world?)

Stoned any Adulterers?

Sought to impose clothing restrictions based on religion?

Thrown Students from the roofs of their dormitories?

Sought to forcibly impose his religious beliefs on the unbelieving?

The answer to all these questions in no… The same cannot be said of Mr. Ahmadinejad, the man you chose to invite as an honored guest to your once venerable institution of higher learning…

In your zest to “dialogue” with one of the most hate filled, misogynistic, nihilistic regimes in this world, what message are you sending the people who come under the boot heel of this messianic Islamic Theocracy on a daily basis?

By extending an invitation to Mr. Ahmadinejad, you give this man an aura of respectability that he does not deserve… He should be explaining his rhetoric and actions in the docket at The Hague, not extolling the virtues of Islamic Theocracy in New York City…

One last question for the Regents…. At long last, have you no shame at all???

Mr. Ahmadinejad will be delivering a speech at the UN Monday Sept. 24th, there is a protest scheduled to coincide with this appearance, I urge anyone capable to go and confront this abhorrent blemish to mankind…

If you want to join me, I will be easy to spot… I’ll be wearing my “Infidel” hoody with pride, under a banner that reads….
“Infidels United: Cuz freedom matters” leading chants like Islam’s not for me…

You're right Bob. These libs are on a mission to make the American an endangered species. That guy may get assaulted in this country and I wouldn't doubt there are those who wish to do him harm. While I don't wish him dead, (yet), maybe someone will get close enough to spit on him. I'm surprised Kerry and Kennedy aren't going to be hanging out with him. Maybe Peklosi and Hillary Clinton will. Hold your sign high Bob and please take a bunch of photos to share with us. Will you also be talking to people and reporting their sentiments?

The whole Gilchrist thing is a fraud. As if CU cant abide him but can abide Adimmyjad. As with those who protest visits of other bloody tyrants to our shores (most are invited to the White House) a protest is a great idea. That said, why not hear what he has to say and have him lay a wreath of respect if he so wishes. Unless you guys are cooking up some Iran conspiracy theory to justify the next slaughter.

As to the Gilchrist vs Columbia imbroglio, perhaps you need a new dictionary... Fraud: 1. to decieve for financial benefit... 2. intentional perversion of the truth.. 3.a person who is not who he or she pretends to be (U know like a Muslim who claims he desires peace with non-Muslims)... So which definition do you, in your addled, feeble, mind think best describes the Jim Gilchrist vs Columbia situation??? As to hearing him out.... I have been listening for over 30 years... Thats why Pally Scum like you don't like to directly confront informed opinion with fact... You use inuendo and figure the wet spaghetti principle can score you some propaganda points... Of course the only people that works with are the ignorant and uninformed, or the wimpy liberal apologists for western man... Sands I was looking for the proper way to demonstrate the word fraud.. this came to mind.... When some Muslim tells me that there is no compulsion to religion in Islam because the Koran says so... Because I am familiar with the Koran, abrogation, and Hadithe, I know that's the biggest fraud being pulled on mankind today...

Columbia "are" denying? ...anyway, Gilchrist went to Columbia and was attacked by leftists chanting in English and Arabic and the Columbia security ordered the Republican meeting to cease. The leftist raiders called one of the Minutemen the "N" word and Gilchrist was told not to return by the university. It is also true that military recruiters are not allowed to recruit on campus. Sands you are chronically opposed to the truth.

There were complications with Gilchrist's return, just as with an earlier Admannyjad invite. Although, I think the latter actually had some political roadblocks versus the logistic roadblocks over Gilchrist's return show. Trying to fit reality into the liberal straw man textbook is a disservice to your listeners.

Update-- Columbia has agreed to afford Jim Gilchrist the opportunity to speak.. Let's hope he is allowed to be heard this time... As to post # 9... Re Comment # 10 Sands you sure seem to get your rocks off making a donkey out of yourself. I just spoke with Jim Gilchrist 1:05 PM 9/28/07 and asked him exactly what transpired since he was physically attacked by leftists at Columbia. He said he was invited back after pressure was made by the hypocrisy of denying him while inviting Achmedinejad but the invitation has now been revoked. Get your facts straight one time will ya Einstein?

Your ability to conflate student groups with a large liberal behemoth called COLUMBIA is only matched by your ability to link all student, union or any labor conscious group with Stalinist totalitarianism. Because Freedom matters, Columbia student organizations have a right to invite anyone to speak. Hence, they invited Gilchrist to speak twice. The coming second appearance was never in doubt beyond logistics. It was held up because of the unavailability of Karina Garcia, leader of the previous protests. Interestingly, it was Garcia who caused Gilchrist to flee an interview on Democracynow last year. He probably has an excuse for that also, to add to his tale of bias at Columbia. The truth is bit more mundane.

Actually I am quite able to see the difference between leftists and liberals. I have liberal friends and nothing but contempt for leftists. I disagree. I think you conflate groups. As an example, you have called the SEIU a communist group. And what's worse is that you make no distinction between communism as a philosophy that may be advocated by some and the totalitarian dictatorships that used the name.

I'm trying to keep up here in Bizarro World but it is tough navigating through this nonsense. Let's use an analogy you might understand. If George Bush marched in an Aryan White -Pride parade, would you defend his presense as not being in union with the marchers? you always offer this incredibly naive or clueless lack of understanding when it is clear that we should doubt it.
