In 2006 the Democrats promised America two things above all if they were given the powers back in Congress; Troops would be sent home from Iraq and oil prices would be brought back under control. The voters held  their end of the bargain but the Democrats did not. In fact, since The House of Representatives fell to the Democrats and the speaker became (CA) Nancy Pelosi and the Senate majority leader became (NV) Harry Reid in January 2007, conditions in America have worsened and at a much faster clip.

Oil

 Gas had gone up 50% in the first seven years under President Bush. Since the Democrats have taken over Congress in Jan 07, gasoline has gone up 50% in just over one year.

Food prices have gone up 40% since the Democrats regained control of Congress. (Jan 07' - May 08')

WAR

As for the war, not only did the Democrats fail to bring troops home from Iraq, more troops went in to Iraq since the 2003 invasion when the troop "surge" took place. Sure the liberal Democrats tried to block the surge but the Republicans and the 'Blue dog' Democrats gave Bush enough votes to push the troop numbers up in Iraq. The troop surge also met with a war best success in quelling violence and lowering al Qa'eda and insurgent threats in Greater Baghdad.

Jobs

NAFTA has increased in size under the leadership of the Democrats in Congress. More American jobs are overseas. Illegal aliens are climbing the food chain in the workplace market, seizing union jobs, state contracts and guess who is shelving the immigration debate so it won't reach the House floor? Even in Ted Kennedy and John Kerry's state of Massachusetts, in Barney Frank's district in the city of New Bedford, Massachusetts under the leadership of Governor Deval Patrick, Mayor Scott Lang and state senator Mark Montigny, the union of fisherman and fish house workers has been busted up, stamped out and the American workers replaced by illegal aliens by the thousands. All of the above are Democrats who require labor to back them during elections.

Ecology

Democrats are fighting hard to make every exhale from every breathing creature to be declared officially as pollution. It's true. The Democrats want CO2 (carbon dioxide) to be declared as a pollutant. Since they have also declared that the science is settled and global warming is caused by man's over production of CO2, perhaps MA Senator John Kerry and others can explain why they continue to vote for funding the research ($5 billion annually) into the cause of global warming? I thought the science was settled. As Chris Horner point's out, either way they are lying.

Interestingly enough, the Greenies (environmentally obsessed) also duck and hide from certain doomsday pollutants if it divides their own house. Synthetic Estrogen is potentially killing off vital fish populations and decimating and or mutating fish and effecting other wildlife but the usually alarmist watchdogs won't touch the issue. Why? Because the estrogen compounds come from sewage treatment waters, unaltered as women on "the Pill" flush them into our rivers and streams and thus into the breeding grounds of important fish vital to the food chain. NARAL and NOW do not want even Green Peace or Al Gore to mess around with contraceptive rights. Hypocrites once again.





The end results though are these; The promises were not fulfilled and conditions in America are worse than ever. If Americans are paying attention, Barack Obama doesn't come close to McCain this November.
