Deval-ued Hatrick
All of his 'Big Three' priorities have now fallen dead with a whimper. So what was all the hype about in electing Deval Patrick as Massachusetts Governor? He came advertised as a capable, savvy, brilliant leader. Based on what, I have no idea. I do know that I gave him a chance to impress me but that never happened. Third party candidates Kristy Mihos and Grace Ross piled on top of  the Republican Lt. Governor Kerry "Muffy" Healey and Mr. Patrick barely had to speak in depth about a damn thing. The Democrat kind of slid right into Beacon Hill with uncanny ease.

Early on, as some of you will recall, Governor Patrick was doing all that was wrong, buying $10,000 drapes for his office, exchanging the Governor's provided vehicle (which was good enough for Romney), a Ford Crown Victoria for a Cadillac Coupe D'Ville while ceremoniously warning all departments that they must find a way to make 15% cuts in their budgets. Leading by example? Na, that was just for the cameras. Just before those high profile hypes of hypocrisy, he removed the MA State Police powers which would have aided in illegal immigration enforcement. His staff used Chisanbop or some other kind of math to see a $1 billion dollar deficit as soon as the departed  Romney Administration left with what they believed was a $1 billion surplus.

Still, Patrick was only getting started though folks. He had already lobbied for the Massachusetts legislature to break the law if it came to it, regarding the same-sex marriage bill. His point man on the issue, a key aide and former director of Mass Equality, gay activist Esq. Carl Stanley Mcgee was arrested in Florida for allegedly molesting a 15 year old boy and oddly enough, Patrick recently went down to Florida to raise money for gay organizations the same week the case was dropped. Shaky dealings with "North Point" land developers showed him reversing a supreme court ruling effecting their project soon after he accepted campaign money from them and got into office. He also promised the Southcoast residents (New Bedford & Fall River areas) that he would announce a time-table for a transit system into Boston within 90 days of being in office. Then the knee slapper of the decade came with the time-table which was announced in April of 2007; 2016. The people of the Southcoast who voted for him could "count' on the train to start to come to town in 2016.

Deval has also stepped up services to illegal aliens and is trying to get them in-state tuitions for state schools which would provide them with lower rates then American citizens from other states.

I realize this is becoming one long ragging on our governor but this all has to resonate at some point. I'm sorry to say that Mrs. Patrick went into a clinic to treat for depression so we leave her out of this and wish her complete recovery but her husband has to be held accountable.

In 2008 Governor Patrick laid out the fiscal budget for upcoming years which included revenues generated by the three non-existing casinos he envisioned for Massachusetts. Imagine this folks, spending money you don't even have is bad enough but spending money based on an economic engine that is against the law when you budget in the revenues? Please tell me what you think the liberal media in Massachusetts would have done to Weld, Celucci, Swift or Romney for such irrational governing. Wait though, it gets worse.

Not only did Patrick find himself with less clout than Massachusetts Speaker of The House Sal DiMasi, he watched as those who promised to vote for the casinos became vocally colder to the idea as the ever so important vote came on March 20th. Instead of working the phones and playing hard ball, softball or any ball, Patrick opted to not rally the representatives and garnish more votes for the casinos. In fact he left town. He didn't leave Boston for official business though. Deval Patrick left his state during the days and nights most vital to a crucial vote to legalize casino gambling in Massachusetts, abandoning the thousands who voted for him based on that possible reality. The reason? Governor Patrick went to New York City to peddle his auto-biography to the publishers in Manhattan. The good news is he landed a $1.35M payday for himself (yay!), following the footsteps of Barack Obama his close friend. The bad news is that Massachusetts had a governor that fled the state for nothing but personal gain when a vital bill was being fought for and was defeated embarrassingly by his rival and superior politician Sal DiMasi.

This is a sad time for Massachusetts but more so for African Americans in Massachusetts, particularly those who know the ramifications of a failed ground breaking opportunity in politics in a racist town like Boston. One would think Mr. Patrick would understand the immense responsibility he had being only the second black governor of a state in history and the first in Massachusetts. Are you telling me all the Manhattan publishers pressured him to get the deal done exactly then and there and that he couldn't wait a week to sell his book after he fought for the casino bill or at least pretended to fight for it? He couldn't even provide the image that he cared even just a little bit? I tend to think that there are probably some damn good African American prospects looking to become elected who do care what happens here and who do see what damage is done by this selfishness. When I think of what  baseball Hall of Famer Jackie Robinson went through to represent blacks in Major League Baseball for the first time and that was just a game! It makes Deval's performance that much more disgraceful.

You never let me down Governor. I never held any high expectations for you in the first place. If you go back and look a bit closer, you never really gave anyone a reason to believe that empty slogan, "Together We Can". Together we might have sir but you took the road cynics like me knew you would. You went for the personal gain. You are no leader and your " Big 3" goals for this state are dead in the water. The
New York Times has called you a failure because you are. You are now dubbed Deval-ued Hatrick and your selfishness and irresponsibility has hurt your state, correction, my state. You really don't belong here big guy. Please take your money and once again, please resign. -kp

P.S. This was to be taken literally, I don't want another "case of human misunderstanding".
