I believe pro-life Republicans ought to have the right to point out the Democrats’ hypocrisy in their latest pity party over who has the most sympathy for children’s “health”. Since abortion is the most prominent issue defined as “health care” in the Democrat Party’s platform, perhaps the Senator could explain the method he and his colleagues use to make a sympathetic distinction between a child born with a rare eye disease and an innocent angel being ripped limb from limb from his mother’s womb. Maybe the Senator could explain the “litmus test” continually used by himself and his colleagues during the confirmation process of Republican-appointed judges in order to determine whether or not these people have the stomach for the murder of our most vulnerable. And if it’s determined that they don’t, maybe he could explain why they are then denied confirmation to our courts. The Democrats’ “adequately funded bill to meet the needs of all of the nation’s children” now includes funding for the distribution of contraceptives to children without parental knowledge, diverting funds for abstinence education to condom campaigns, and taxpayer-funded abortions. He correctly states, “The time has come to stand up and be counted to see who is for children’s health and who is against it”. Yes, Senator, I believe it’s long past time to count the instances of hypocrisy by those who feign concern over “children’s health” while having given political consent to over 40 million abortions performed in this country since Roe vs. Wade. And I would suggest that the next time the senator decides to assign the word “shameful” to anyone, that he look in the mirror first.
