Since the early 1980s, the heterosexual community was proved as a whole, to not be bigoted and hateful of the gays in society when it heeded to the legitimate cries of the homosexual community leaders looking for the American government and its people to help combat AIDS. The nation, in fact the world poured billions of dollars into research to stop the lethal and cruel virus. Many radical gays since then however, have used the issue to wedge into many political arenas. Borrowing pages from the Civil Rights movement of the 1960s, the gay community has demanded, and has been granted, many advancements in society (many to which I applaud). What has transpired since westerners began "coming out" upon the revelation that mass lynchings did not result of it, has been an open assault on conservatives and the religious which frowned on homosexual activity.

A reverse discrimination has been taking place and it is a bigotry liberals are too fearful to deal with since they have become so dependent on the gay lobby as political allies.
Only ten years ago it was quite politically correct to be a Christian-minded Democrat. Today the culture shepherds on the left have made it increasingly difficult for Democrats and all progressives to espouse a devout religious lifestyle. This intolerance has particularly effected the Christians more so than Jewish or Muslims to the left of center. As society leans left, in part to a mobilized, smart and effective lobbying by the gay community, action taken against opponents strengthens and criticism is repressed.

When Massachusetts gave way to legal same-sex marriage in a 4-3 vote by the Supreme Court, any individual or group that resisted was met with a venomous hatred not allowed to the opposition. A good example of this environment is found on the South-coast of Massachusetts in the city of New Bedford.
Enter Phil Paleologos, a longtime city resident and owner of a popular landmark restaurant called "The Shawmut Diner". Phil has been met with a venom and hatred not found since "Wham" broke up.  His outspoken position on the defense of marriage as being strictly between one man and one woman cost him more than just a few "friends". As a community volunteer and board member of a local health center, Phil noticed the blanketed "black balling" by the liberal community. Both elected and private citizens have turned on him and refuse to acknowledge that there was ever any warmth in the past.

He is a New Bedford Apostate. Once one is exposed as not agreeing with the far left it is a certain social suicide for which there is no returning. "Sure its disappointing because I know that for me, there is no hatred in my heart and its sad to see there is for those who I disagree with", Phil once told me after he took part in a rally organized by the Vote On Marriage group. The vile and classlessness of the hecklers and disrupter's of the peace revealed a clear double standard by the print press and social elite in New Bedford. The local newspaper, The New Bedford Standard Times, whose editorial board has a healthy fraction of homosexuals on it, has been a loud proponent of expanding marriage to at least gays so far, and refuses to let the readers know that the Op/Ed board members have several gays in the ranks. The failure to disclose this fact is just another blatant example of the unprofessionalism of  the paper. The editor Bob Unger agreed with me that the editorial board should volunteer this information to the readers since the company is "not allowed to ask", he claims he doesn't and couldn't possibly know who is or isn't gay on the board. That is a good official answer but obviously not quite truthful. My analogy to convince him was this; If a member of the opinion & editorial board was lobbying daily in the newspaper for Pro-Life laws and the member was a Roman Catholic priest, then the paper would be obliged to inform the public of such. Being a gay and lobbying for gay marriage in the same scenario has the double standard which is exactly what I am writing about here.

I think today, it is the position of the far left to pressure its members to eventually denounce Christianity as being a legitimate part of their life and instead want it to be written off as being, "Theirs",..you know, the Republicans and other conservative haters.

The newspaper would obviously like the reader to consider that Christianity has been hijacked by the Right wing and that the Republicans say "God hates gays". There are two inherently erroneous things here but in fairness, there are some on the right at fault for this. One is that, as far as I know my Roman Catholic church and the Holy Bible both teach that God hates the actions of homosexuality but loves the sinner. The liberals are more off than on here. Several scattered far right wing preachers and pastors do in fact preach hatred toward the homosexual but most teach what is found in the Holy Bible and that is:
