Ken Pittman
Ken Pittman is the afternoon voice for Greater New Bedford's WBSM 1420.
From 2PM thru 6PM M-F..
Ken's Bio
OK, so let’s examine that. Well, this past Saturday at the NB Vocational High School, The International Action Center (IAC), was in New Bedford for several ulterior reasons. To name a few they came to demonize anyone who supports any US military action post World War II. (Maybe that is based on the fact that the Peoples Republic of North Korea funds this group?).
They came here to find anti-war protesters for the protest next week in Boston, and to help create the illusion that a significant amount of Americans opposed the action taken by ICE on March 6, 2007. While I still value the friendship I have with this mayor, I have to feel that he is pressing on towards an issue that may provide opportunity for other mayoral candidates. He is insisting that he will do whatever he can to keep Americans in the same lines as illegal aliens in his city. It would be a shame to lose a mayor who most people find many qualities in. On the other hand he utters the following, “I want you all to get up and stand up, regardless of your feeling on the immigration issue,” he said. The last thing we need is to have New Bedford labeled as an intolerant city. I don’t see anyone in this room who can’t give me a date as to when their parents or ancestors came to the United States of America.” I am left to wonder who it is that just said that? Ali Raza Noorani or Scott Lang?
Noorani is the executive director of MIRA. In a post 9/11 world America cannot afford to have leaders at any level that are willing to cherry pick immigration laws and infer that their region would be favorable for those who break our laws to redirect themselves toward. Terrorist issue aside, we must understand the basic modus operandi for South and Central American drug cartels and gangs is to finance the poor masses looking for work in the United States. Why? Because without these workers/pawns (and still criminal encroachers) to begin the process of founding a root in the US cities after meeting the typical levels of acceptance and resistance as we see in New Bedford, and without the ethnic communities already in place by these people who are now indentured to these thugs in terms of money and or favors, these drug dealers and gang members would be fish in a barrel for police so for the MS-13, “Coyotes” and cartels the investment is sound.

What America needs are leaders to have the fortitude and the courage to do the emotionally harder thing and call for humane but tangible executions of immigration laws. I cannot think of a Democrat in the country with whom I trust more as a good person with potential to sway the party in a more nobler direction than Scott Lang and I haven’t given up on him, but I am hoping he doesn’t let me down because my nation comes only after my Lord and family. We cannot absorb the problems of the entire Western Hemisphere. We must recognize the international criminals as well as sovereign nations who are secretly financing and gladly watching this national crisis. Roger Hedgecock, a fill in for Rush Limbaugh and a well-respected radio talk show guru www.rogerhedgecock.com was a guest on my radio program on March 15, 2007 and we discussed on and off the air about the model of these cartels. He said what New Bedford has is what San Diego had and what San Diego has now New Bedford will be getting soon. I don’t doubt Mayor Lang’s patriotism; I question his vision to put taxpayers in the same line with the people they inadvertently and reluctantly fund. I don’t condemn his optimism; I am trying to raise his awareness of the bigger picture.
There are plenty of Americans within the city limits who don’t give a damn about ‘America First,’ Francesca Insolia for one! Do you think he is alone? How many employers are putting ‘ America First’?! How many socialist and communist organizations and their members live within the city and see America as a vile militant capitalist tyrant? Believe me, it’s in the hundreds. I like Scott Lang. I’m glad he is the mayor of New Bedford but he needs to realize that the clock is ticking and what he does is being watched here, at the border, below the equator and further. I’m not anti-immigrant, that would make me an idiot. I’m just a guy who believes that a sovereign nation (at war or not) has the right and authority to oversee who comes in, when and for how long. The “coyotes” are more aptly named “hyenas,” as they are waiting for the lion to age or weaken so they can devour him. America must roar my friends. They come in the shape of low-level thugs but are indeed the works of Chavez, Jong IL, and Castro.
Follow the money folks and you’ll see that those of us with the ability to track these “hyenas” are right.

I liked the article.
I haven't read everything on this site... Yet.
Most of what I have read sounds awfully familiar.
No wonder, Right?
What I have seen is pleasant to the eye and true to the nature of the "Ken Pittman" I've come to respect.
Buena Fortuna !
Success. Because anything less is not as acceptable!

I once thought I was more of a liberal. A democrat. But, over the last several year, liberal has become too liberal. I am pro-choice. I am pro-gay rights. However, I am anti-"illegal" immigration and tired of being labeled "bigotted" or "racist" for my views. I am anti- free rent, utilities, healthcare, education, (etc.) for non-taxpaying or non-working individuals and families regardless of their citizenship status. I am extremely concerned about the message our local and state government is sending to the entire world- "Sneak into New Bedford, MA- not Florida, Arizona, Texas, California- and you will be supported fully. They will house you, feed you, diaper your babies, education your children and fight against their own government on your behalf. Oh, and by the way, if they can successfully hide you out for two years, you may just be rewarded for breaking the law by sneaking in and evading taxes because they are trying to pass a law that will make you citizens by doing just that!" It is an insult to the thousands of legal immigrants in our area who worked so hard, some for years, to come to this country and make a life for themselves and their families. We have opened the flood gates to every illegal hiding in this country now, and every one making their way towards our borders. That so many could be found in one company, in one tiny city, on one given day really makes you think about about the lack of security in our country even after the promises of post-911 speeches and even though we are a country at war. Rather than blast our government officials and local police for a job well done, as a community we should have resurrected the American flags we saw on every overpass, every car and every home in the fall of 2001.

Lang tossed out a statement which claimed that he did not want New Bedford to be known as a city of intolerance.
I say we should be more than happy to be labled as such. We are intolerant.... intolerant of the elected officials in our local, state and federal government entities who refuse to represent the American citizen who put them in office.
Over 87% of the people in this area supported the ICE raid and want the officials to rid the illegal aiens from our midst and from sucking off our city's resources. We are asking our officials to uphold the laws. We are asking our officials to represent us. Are we asking too much? Why are we in this position of begging our elected ones to represent the vast majority and drop their own personal agendas?
We are being portrayed as the problem children of this state as seen in the actions of those elected such as Kennedy, Frank, Kerry, Delahunt and even our own mayor Lang.
Lang has initiated a statement that he would like this city to be intolerant of gangs and violence.
We are to be proud of this preset intolerance yet offended as to being intolerant on this illegal alien crisis? Hello? Anybody home?
I am proud to be labled intolerant regarding this issue of illegal aliens. Yep. Me, as well as the majority in this area.
I have absolutely no problem with legal entry into this country.
Those who claim that our country would crumble without the illegal aliens here I say, "Prove it." Give us 10-20 years and then let's take a look at the prosperity of this country. If we do need more of a workforce at any given time, good... that's where the legal workers can come to work with real visas in their hands.
The largest export of Mexico is mexicans. Yep. Their own population.
I'm intolerant alright. I do not stand alone in this grouping. I am proud to be intolerant. Yep.

No wonder congress won't make "English" the official language of the United States.

I think Scott Lang has done himself enormous harm with his position on illegal immigrants in New Bedford.

I find the comments of many that I "know" interesting.
I just hope that the Illegals issue does not get put on the back burner.
As for the planned rally: My spirit is willing but my body is weak.
Having my physical problems that limit my walking to only a short distance and the need to visit the bathroom frequently, I won't be able to attend.
Know, though, that I'm behind you all the way and will do whatever I can to make it a success.

Trying to tie immigrants to drug cartels and whatnot is ridiculous. Anyone who walks the streets of New Bedford knows that the overwhelming majority of these recent immigrants are the furthest thing from hardened criminals. They are simply looking for work.
Our immigration policies need work, but attempting to associate these people with organized crime strikes me as blatant fear-mongering. Get to know a few of them, Mr. Pittman. You might be surprised at what you find.

Your premise sir, is faulty from the get go. All sir, all illegal immigrants are breaking the law by being here. If one in one hundred thousand commits a crime it is one too many. The real statistic is one in ten commit crimes on top of their infraction in immigration. Many are here "simply looking for work", thanks for paying attention. All looking for work deplete wages for American laborers, take other jobs and suck our limited funds for the poor. Your ignorance of what cartels need in place (low income communities of people of their ethnicity) before they become more brazen and do their thing was almost startling. Pittman didn't fear-monger, on the other hand sir it is clear that you are apologizing for the illegal immigrants. The towel needs to dry and you will see more clearly when the fog of tears has lifted. Good day. Nice article Pittman
