Ken's Bio
Those nasty corporate tax loopholes that hold the state of Marx..eh, Massachusetts back will soon be gone. Enter the hero, Governor Deval Patrick who is promising to smack the villainous employers of the private sector with over $500M in righteous taxation. After all, who are they to profit in the Gay er, Bay State? One of Boston's largest employers, Fidelity (3rd only after two hospitals with multiple campuses) is leaving for good before 2008 and taking the 8,000 jobs with them to Texas. They have had it. Did you even know that? Well, there is your balanced press you seem so proud of. Last week I noticed the state rejected a bill giving small businesses tax credit incentives for hiring five employees. New Bedford's legislative fearless leader (D)Mark Montigny called it "risky", although he did opt for tax relief for multi-million dollar motion picture companies who decide to film here. No elitist neglect there? Another prime example of how the Democrats are 'looking out for the little guy'.
The old adage, "You get the government you deserve", is true for those who have the awesome privilege and freedom to select it in a democracy. The collective wisdom of Massachusetts residents is to have a wildly leftist legislature and governor in office. Since Deval has stepped in and replaced Mitt Romney as governor, he has called for over $6 billion in new taxes in just under six months in office. He has made Massachusetts more attractive to illegal aliens through several measures. He has spoken for a panel he created and suggested that their findings showed an obvious need for large tax increases and then on the same day we learn of the same panel calling him a liar. Since he was governor-elect, he demanded that the legislature break the law and defy the constitution based on "conscience" and insisted that a legal petition by the people (170,000+) has no place in a state run by Democrats if it goes against the Democratic moral badges of courage; abortion, homosexuality and socialist programs.
I'm already hearing many people say they can't wait for the next governor's election but sometimes I wonder if we shouldn't stick to the Deval we know. OK, you're right. We can and should choose more wisely next time. To coin a slogan from Howie, " Don't blame me. I voted for Muffy." Last week the Deval suggested making all Massachusetts high school graduates eligible for free state college tuitions. Key word here is all. This would include illegal immigrants as well and by the way, free to who? This will cost the taxpayer much. Just look at the generous salaries this state has for appointed deans and other hacks and for the professors and other educators. Part timers with full benefits & credit toward taxpayer funded pensions are another part of this Democratic Party scheme. Folks it is time to tell Beacon Hill that the party is over.
People who could take no more have fled this state in what has been described as a Mass exodus, making us the only state in the union to lose population. OK to lose a legally residing population. The estimates show between 2000 and 2004 more residents left Marx..Massachusetts then moved to the Gay..Bay State - with an average annual exodus of 42,402 people. That amounts to a rate of 6.6 people leaving the state per 1,000. I'm sure the net gain via illegal immigrants might pose a problem to that figure. At what should be an alarming pace, Boston has gone from the media's eighth largest market to the eleventh.
We basically caught the state (with the cooperation of liberal media) hiding, hiring, training, and protecting illegal aliens from the federal government and the American workers both and even learned the fact that our elected here in Massachusetts fight US to give them OUR money!
Instead of correcting the path to socialist and liberal dominated politics, we've hit the gas toward the agenda again last November. Let's give credit where credit is due and put a light on where the strengths are in the liberal fascist's community in Massachusetts. The gay community is organized and mobilized and are fine lobbyists. The abortion industry wields another mighty sword over the pols heads and too many are fearful to defy them at any level here as well. The synergy between state reps who write legislation to fund all these social programs steered toward not-for-profit organizations and their not-for-profit directors and workers who in turn dedicate their time as volunteers for the same politician's campaigns is a tough opponent for fresh, green opponents. The result is a political lock-down.
The bottom line is that, since January 2007 when we became a one party system, we have watched the Democrats here defy We the people, scare away more revenue generating businesses and increase the unemployment, encourage not deter illegal aliens from coming to Massachusetts, hold Proposition 2 1/2 under siege. We observe fees and tax increases which are hovering over the citizens who are going through epidemic foreclosures and bankruptcies and all indications are that this practice will increase in volume. Then again, I may have to consider the possibility that I have been brought to a parallel universe and these are good things here. The people here seem to like it. "Scotty....get me back to my ship, my (patented Shatner pause) ..crew." Pittman out.
