Ken Pittman
Ken Pittman is the afternoon voice for Greater New Bedford's WBSM 1420.
From 2PM thru 6PM M-F..
Ken's Bio
Team Obama has been quite active on the Sunday circuit and press media pow-wows in the last two weeks trying to lower expectations, quell the implied success story sure to come and frankly, to be a bit more honest about what Americans should reasonably expect from a great candidate who now has to accomplish real things in a real world. In his victory speech on election night, Mr. Obama was quick to ask all Americans to understand that turning things around may take more than one term as president.
He has also started to condition folks to embrace the Bush tax cuts. Yeah, you know the same tax cuts which he lambasted Senator McCain for his support of them. Now since he won the seat he has "evolved his position" (* a little tip for you; when a politician which you support flip-flops on an issue he or she evolves their position). Yes it seems that the tax cuts turned out to be better for the economy afterall. In other words, as Holly Robichaud puts it: the Republicans were right and the Democrats were wrong.
It also seems that President-elect Obama has now seen the wisdom in continuing the fight against terror in Iraq, "As long as it takes". Gee this seems as though Obama and McCain should have shared the ticket. Funny how things worked out. May through October Barack Obama toured the nation and spent over $800 million dollars convincing people that the Bush plan in Iraq and the Bush tax cuts were dead wrong but on November 5th, it all mysteriously took a sharp turn. Now that is Change.
I can feel it up here in New Bedford. No not the "thrill up my leg" feeling that quasi gay Chris Matthews felt. I feel a chill up my spine that America has elected a President that I warned of.
The Audacity of Dopes begins. Stay tuned...

EARTH TO KEN: "As long as it takes" is now officially set for Dec 31 2011, according to the security agreement George W Bush has entered into with the Iraqi government. At the insistence of the Sunni minority, the agreement also provides for a nationwide referendum which, if it passes, will force US troops out a year earlier. Bush has also promised the pro-Iranian Shiite dominated government of Iraq that no permanent US military bases will be established in their country and that, until the time when US troops are completely withdrawn from Iraq, the US is prohibited from using its temporary bases for the purpose of launching attacks on other countries. And as far as your dopey obsessing over Obama's cabinet picks, former Bush political strategist Matthew Dowd said it best today on This Week: "....one of the most pragmatic, least ideological cabinets that we’ve seen in a long time.”...."Much less ideological than George Bush’s cabinet when he appointed it, when he first came into office. People that have disagreements. He has disagreements with his potential Secretary of State. He has disagreements with the person that’s going to run his Pentagon. It’s an amazing thing he has done that."

How come the people who don't agree with Pittman never have the cahonies to say who they are? Always anonymous mice. the fact is that Ken didn't say much about the ideology you stupid f'k. He said the "Change" was not change. He said (just look at the blog above you retard) the cabinet was a typical Washington insider gratuitous one. And it wasn't Ken who made the statement "As long as it takes", it was the CHANGING Obama who is making it up as he goes along. At least understand what you read before you try to sound smart enough to put it down.

I have to agree with Mike... But, I won't be so harsh with them. See, they probably graduated from New Bedford High and studied on a toxic dump school where they ingested P C B dust, Arsenic, and about two dozen other toxic chemicals which the New Bedford School Committee could care less about. Then, they most likely subscribed to Mayor Scott Lang's double dose of twisted tongue explanations which left them completely unable to comprehend not only the written words but unable to comprehend the spoken English language as well. See, these are the same mental genius who elected that NO Bama guy who intends to share the wealth of hard working American Citizen taxpayer to keep those ignorant idiots in food stamps, welfare checks and their alloted pot as Barney Frank so desperately fought to make legal. That should help you understand why you had to take the time to explain it to nameless coward!

Ken- You're in a win-win situation right now. If Mr. Obama appoints someone with experience, you can say:"He lied to us! There is no change." If he appoints new people with new ideas, you can say: "Who are these guys? Mr. Obama is trusting our future to inexperienced kids!"
But I wouldn't worry. One of the first things that every president does upon taking office is to issue new Executive Orders, and rescind the Orders of the previous President. My guess is that about a month from now, there will be plenty of Change for you to talk about.

I listen to Ken's show almost everyday and to be honest I thought he was going to be far more critical of Obama but has either restrained or found little to go after him to this point but I'm sure that this is more the calm before the storm. Good article..hate your poltiics!
