I'd like to start by congratulating President Elect Obama, Black America & the legion of supporters who helped make his campaign the brilliant success it was... Whether you supported Mr. Obama or not history was made last night & America has much to be proud of... Though I have many doubts about the wisdom of this selection, I urge all who opposed him to be open minded and fair to our next President elect...  Every elected President deserves the support of the people (all the people) at least until there is something to be critical about, him being elected against your wishes is not a reason (Something that folks on the left could learn a lesson from)...

I doubt you'll see protests, law suits or people frothing at the mouth that somehow the will of the people has not been heard... No today will be time of introspection and reflection on the part of those who have been residing over this decline of the Republican party loe these last 8 years... You can thank GW Bush for this, You can thank Don Rumsfeld for this, Colin Powell, Condi Rice, but most importantly you can thank your local & state leadership, who remain fixated on alpha issues that so many of us think passé...

1 prime example...
We have defended our right to have conservative voices on commercial airwaves (& arguably Fox News) but we didn't do a thing to stop the liberal takeover of our schools & colleges... In this Internet era which seems more important today???
Rush will still have his millions & we'll be generations trying to reintegrate conservatives back into academia... Having young Republicans on campus does little good if there are no like minded professors at the university...

The truth is we got beat by a candidate who campaigned on a platform of change, but drew on national despair for popularity...  We need to be able to be proud conservatives again... We as a movement need to modernize and shed the labels GW Bush & the left have hung on us... We need to live up to our fiscal values & reshape the discussion on our social liabilities... If we do not I fear we may never again walk with heads held high in the confidence that we are the party of ideas, limited government & the true believers in American exceptionalism...

The level of infighting that took place in our last 2 Presidential primaries was appalling & does not help to paint a united front to the Independent voters we lost decidedly... Our local leaders need to rethink some of their rhetoric as well, or does anyone still think high lighting John McCain's age to muster support for Mitt Romney was prudent ???

As a Republican & as an admonishment to all you Johnny Come Lately's  to the civil liberties movement, I for one will be keeping track of all the civil liberties I have on this date Nov. 5th 2008, to see that they compare with the level of civil liberties I possess in Nov. 2012...
I think it's safe to say we'll soon see if your rhetoric on the subject is consistent, or partisan...

Again Good luck To President Elect Obama  the real test begins in January...  My prayers as always after an election are for this country & that President ObamaObama governs fairly & wisely thereby vindicating the faith others have shown in him...
Human Pride World-Wide
